Our Family's Lifeline Washed Away: Help Us Recover
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Chantily Walker. It’s with a heavy heart and a great deal of humility that I’m writing this today—something I never imagined I would have to do.
This past Sunday, July 27th, our lives were turned upside down. What started as a summer rainstorm quickly became a terrifying flash flood. In those chaotic first moments, my husband, Jimmy, and I had only one thought: we had to get our three precious daughters to safety. By the grace of God, we are all safe, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
But as we stood there, safe but shaken, we watched in horror as the floodwaters swallowed our only family car and swept it away. In an instant, it was gone.
That car was so much more than just a car to us. It was our family’s lifeline. It was how Jimmy got to work every day to provide for us. It was how I got our girls to school, to the doctor, and to the grocery store. It represented our independence, our security, and the stability we work so hard to maintain for our children.
Now, without it, we are facing an impossible situation. The simple, everyday tasks of life have become overwhelming obstacles. As a mother, my heart breaks knowing how much harder it will be to provide the simple necessities for my girls.
Jimmy and I have always been proud to work hard for everything we have. It is incredibly difficult and humbling for us to ask for help, but this sudden and devastating loss is a financial blow that we simply cannot recover from on our own.
We are launching this GoFundMe in the hopes of raising enough to purchase a safe, reliable used vehicle. This would allow Jimmy to get back to work without worry and allow us to return to some sense of normalcy for our daughters' sake.
Every single dollar will go directly to getting our family back on the road. Any donation, no matter the size, would be an incredible blessing and a light for us in this dark time. If you are not in a position to donate, simply sharing our story with your friends and family would mean the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We are holding onto hope and are so grateful for any kindness, prayer, or support you can offer.
With all our love and gratitude,
Chantily, Jimmy, and our girls
