Our fallen Airman, Nic Murgolo
Spende geschützt
I am deeply saddened and heartbroken over the tragic and unexpected loss of one of my good friends, my brother, Nic Murgolo. He passed on November 29, 2018. He was one of the best people I knew. He was a very hard worker and such a driven person. He set his goals high and he achieved things most of us would only wish to accomplish. He was recently chosen to become part of the OSI and was to begin training at the start of the new year. He was a good man, and the definition of a great Airman.

Like many of you, I have so many memories of Murgolo. From shop barbecues, and late night fuel spills, to holiday gatherings, and flag football. Too many drinks on the weekends, listening to Biggie and Frank Sinatra. We’ve cried together and laughed together and have been their at the birth of each other’s children. His memory will forever live on.

He was survived by his loving wife, Alicia, as well as his two beautiful children, Nicholas (aged 6) and Kayleigh (age 4).

Which brings me to this, if there was one thing Nic would ask of me, of all of us. It would be not to mourn his name with sorrow. But, to remember the good times and make sure his family was taken care of. He was an amazing father. I cannot begin to understand the pain his children are faced with.

So, with the holidays fast approaching, I’m asking all of you, my brothers, to help the Murgolo family in this time of need. This family will never be whole again. We can not change the past, but we can help brighten their future.

Within the next few months, Christmas comes, Alicia’s birthday, Nicholas’s 7th birthday, and Kayleigh’s 5th birthday. Nic’s 30th birthday as well. Money won’t bring Nic back, but money can help his family begin to repair. They lost the foundation of their family. But, with our help, we can aid them while trying to rebuild.
We have all recited the Airman’s Creed at some point or another. Let’s all remember the part that stands out the most during this time of grief, “I am an American Airman: wingman, leader, warrior. I will never leave an Airman behind, I will never falter, and I will not fail!”
Thank you guys for taking the time to read this. Anything helps!
Fly high Nic, we love you!
