Running in Dad’s Memory ❤️
In October 2025, we lost our dad, Paul, to oesophageal cancer.
Dad bravely fought this horrible disease for 14 months, but eventually it became too much for him. Watching someone you love so much slowly disappear in front of you, while feeling completely powerless to stop it, is something I will never forget. It has left a huge hole in our family.
I want to try to turn some of that hurt into something positive.
So, in September 2026, I will be running The Big Half Marathon for Cancer Research UK, in memory of Dad. ❤️
Now, there is one small problem… the furthest I had ever run before starting this journey was a 5K, years ago! So taking on a half marathon is going to be a serious challenge. But I know Dad will be there pushing me along every step of the way.
Cancer affects so many families, and sadly ours is just one of them. If raising money can help fund research, improve treatments and, one day, stop other families from having to go through what we have, then every painful training run will be worth it.
I know money is tight and there are always people asking for donations, so I genuinely appreciate anything you can give. Even the smallest donation will help me get closer to my target and help Cancer Research UK continue its incredible work.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you to everyone who supports me along the way.
Here comes 9 months of training! ♂️❤️
