In June Louis and I will be jumping from 10,000 ft out of a plane! For my 18th birthday, Louis told me he would take me skydiving (something I've always wanted to do!) We both decided that this was the perfect opportunity to raise money for a great cause that we feel so passionate about. In order to do this charity sky dive we are expected to reach our fundraising target.

One of the main reasons we have chosen to do this skydive for Macmillan is because my amazing mum has recently been diagnosed with cancer. This was a massive shock to us all and felt like the worst news we could have ever been told. Thinking about what this could have meant for the future was truly terrifying. This made us realise just how devastating cancer can be not only to the person fighting it but also to their friends and family.

My mum is my best friend and my biggest role model. She is always so caring, positive, strong and kind no matter what life throws at her. Mum has had to be so unbelievably brave throughout this journey so far and no matter how tough and scary it has been she has continued to keep smiling. I am so indescribably proud of her for everything she has been through and will continue to go through. Her positivity hasn't only helped her get through this but also us. I feel so lucky to call her my mum.

Thanks to the amazing research and support that is being done -by charities such as Macmillan- around cancer, we feel so lucky to say that we are hoping mum will be (pretty much) back to her normal self soon.

This has really made us realise just how precious loved ones are and that no time spent with them should ever be taken for granted. Therefore, we are hoping that this money will go towards keeping as many of our loved ones in our lives for as long as they possibly can be.
