Oskar’s fight against Leukemia
On March 25th, my sister Bekkie was supposed to be spending the day celebrating her 32nd birthday. Instead, she received the one of the most devastating phone calls a parent could get. Her 3 year old boy Oskar, who had gone to Regina with his dad, for what we had thought would be just a blood transfusion due to anemia, was diagnosed with Leukaemia. Due to covid restrictions, my sister had to get special privileges for herself, and her 2 month old son Kabrey so that they could also be at the hospital with Oskie during this time. After getting to the hospital, they were told that they would have to go to the Saskatoon Children’s Hospital where Oskie would have to undergo further testing and eventually start chemo.
Our families are devastated. Our hearts are broken. It’s just not fair. Our smiling little 3 year old Oskie, is fighting for his life and is now battling cancer! He’s THREE! Thankfully, his mom, dad and baby brother are there with him, but unfortunately his older brother & sister cannot be there with him. We as a family, have been making sure that they are well taken care of, so that Bekkie and Justins main focus can remain on Oskie at this time.
I am starting this go fund me, as a way to help support my sister, her family and Oskie, as he begins his battle against Cancer! Justin is currently their main income, as Bekkie is on mat leave raising their 2 month old son, but he also needs to be at the hospital with Oskar. I am hoping to relieve any medical expenses that come up, bills etc, as we are not sure how long Oskar will be in the hospital for, and money shouldn’t have to be a concern while they are dealing with this. If you are able to donate and help support my sister and her family please help in any way you can.
