We’re reaching out for support to help us secure a safe, wheelchair-accessible vehicle for our incredible son, Oscar.

MeetOscar

Oscar is 12 years old and has faced extraordinary challenges since birth. He was born with Hydrocephalus, Corpus Callosum Atrophy, and Cortical Vision Impairment, leading to level 5 Cerebral Palsy and seizures. He is unable to lift his head, feed himself, or speak, and he relies on a G-tube for nutrition.

Despite these challenges, Oscar has an incredible spirit. He loves pranks, scaring people, and giggling when his siblings get in trouble! He is the heart of our family, which includes his three wonderful siblings: an 11-year-old sister, an 8-year-old brother, and a 4-year-old sister.

Why We Need Your Help

Our current vehicle, a 7-seater Kia Sorento, is no longer practical for our family. Oscar’s current wheelchair takes up all available space, and his new, larger wheelchair won’t fit at all. Lifting Oscar (now 33kg) into the car is becoming increasingly difficult and unsafe.

To give Oscar the mobility and safety he deserves, we are working toward purchasing a brand-new Kia Carnival, which, once modified, will be the perfect long-term solution for our family. This vehicle will:

✔️ Provide the space we need for Oscar’s wheelchair and growing siblings

✔️ Ensure safe and easy transport for medical appointments and everyday outings

✔️ Support our family for the next 10 years, allowing us to get back into the world again

As a single mum on a Carer’s Payment, I work casually when I can, but full-time employment isn’t an option due to Oscar’s needs. A modified wheelchair-accessible vehicle will be truly life-changing for us—not just for Oscar but for his siblings too.
