Help Support My Medical Trip to Zambia

In October 2024, I'll be travelling to Zambia, Africa to "ZACTS OVC", a school for orphans and vulnerable children. This school is situated in Mazabuka, just north of Solwezi and serves more than 1,000 students.

Zambia ranks among the countries with the highest levels of poverty and inequality globally. These children have limited access to healthcare, many of the kids struggle with malaria, malnutrition, and various other illnesses.

Your gift will support the purchase of medications and vitamins that the medical team will be distributing to the kids.

WHY on earth am I going, you ask?

The team anticipates ~1,200- 1,500 children from the area attending the school to receive medication and assessments from the doctors and nurses. While waiting in line, I'll assist with screening and taking information from the kids/their parents to ensure they are going to the right doctor/nurse.

Also while the kids are in line I'll be my usual hilarious self, providing comic relief to the little ones, face painting and games to keep them occupied- we all know how waiting can make the little ones anxious.

And it's true that the adults can also get anxious....I'm excited but a bit nervous myself. I have always volunteered, but this type of experience is completely new to me.

I understand that there are SO many places to spend your hard earned dollars. However, I'm writing to you now, hopeful that you would consider skipping one or two take out coffees to support me on this venture. I plan to provide updates on the socials while I am there.
