Hi Friends,
⏳ Time is short! Next month I’ll be heading back to Chihuahua, Mexico, to continue building a brighter future for the children at the OSL orphanage. Thanks to your partnership on previous trips, we’ve been able to bring expert medical & mental health teams to care for the kids. This year, our team is focusing on construction projects that will make OSL more self-sustaining and directly improve the children’s daily lives.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 in the next few weeks . Every gift will be MATCHED by a longtime supported of OSL! Help us raise as much as possible to tackle this important construction projects.
Here’s how the funds will be used:
- Chicken Coop (Priority #1): Completing the adobe-style coop and 50 hens will provide eggs for 30 children every week, saving over $2,000/year in grocery costs and teaching the kids responsibility. ($2,500 needed, $1,300 already raised).
- Kitchen Expansion (Priority #2): Finishing the industrial kitchen means safer, healthier meals for the kids and the ability to host larger volunteer teams. ($5,800 needed, $15,000 already raised).
- ☀️ Solar Panels + Beekeeping (Priority #3): With $6,200 left, we can finish expanding OSL’s solar system and cut electricity bills to nearly zero ($1,800/year saved). Setting up bee boxes will also allow OSL to sell honey from Chihuahua’s wildflowers, creating a small income stream.
- ️ Dormitories (Priority #4): Continuing the renovations will provide safe housing for mission teams and long-term volunteers, so they can spend more meaningful time with the children rather than outsourcing lodging.
- Workshop for Trades Training (Priority #5): Advancing this project for woodworking, welding, and mechanics, giving children practical skills, dignity, and a path toward self-reliance.
✨ Special Matching Gift ✨ A generous donor has pledged to match every gift, dollar-for-dollar. That means:
$50 ➡️ $100 impact
$250 ➡️ $500 impact
$500 ➡️ $1,000 impact
With is unique opportunity in mind, we need to reach our goal quickly so the projects can be completed this fall.
Every dollar raised goes directly to building materials, hiring local labor, and creating a safe, sustainable, and hope-filled home where children can grow up with safety opportunity, and love.
I’m so grateful for each of you who has previously contributed to the vision and mission of OSL. Your support has already transformed lives at OSL, and this BIG next step will bless the children for years to come.
Thank you for considering partnering with us again in this work of hope ❤️
With gratitude,
Jeremias
