100 Miles for Community: Supporting a New UTV for Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services
Who: Tyler Marchand, volunteer firefighter with Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services.
What: A 100-mile fundraising run in support of purchasing a new Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) for Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services.
Where: Across Oro-Medonte Township, running between fire stations throughout the community.
When: October 17–18, 2026, with the challenge being completed over approximately 36 hours.
One Runner. 100 Miles. One Purpose.
Every year, Tyler Marchand sets out to take on a challenge that pushes him mentally and physically. It has become a personal tradition—choosing something difficult, committing fully, and seeing it through.
After moving to the incredible community of Oro-Medonte, Tyler began asking himself how he could connect that personal challenge with something bigger: supporting the fire department he serves and the residents who rely on it every day.
On October 17–18, Tyler will take on his most meaningful challenge yet: running 100 miles across Oro-Medonte, travelling from fire station to fire station until the full distance is complete.
This extraordinary effort is more than a test of endurance—it is a community fundraiser dedicated to helping Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services purchase a new Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV). This valuable resource will improve the department's ability to respond to emergencies in remote and difficult-to-access areas throughout the township.
Because Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services serves such a large and diverse area, Tyler envisioned a route that physically connects the department's fire stations and the communities they protect. Over approximately 36 hours, he will run from station to station, symbolizing the reach of the department and the strength of the community that stands behind it.
To complete the challenge, Tyler will run the final mile in full bunker gear, representing the weight of responsibility, dedication, and commitment carried by firefighters in service to others.
Our Goal
With department approval and charitable tax receipting in place, the campaign is working toward a fundraising goal of $60,000+ to support the purchase of a new Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) for Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services.
Every dollar raised will help strengthen emergency response capabilities and enhance the department's ability to serve residents safely and effectively.
