Are you watching the news and not sure what to do to help those in your community?
Do you want your donations to go directly to helping save someone's life?
Are you passionate about helping others have access to mental health care?
We are asking for donations and funding to allow our clients that have already committed to getting help, are doing the very challenging work to improve their mental and physical health, and need consistent continued services during this time. These services are life-changing and help to provide mental health care for clients that are experiencing suicidal ideation and working through severe trauma recovery.
Original Path Counseling is a small group practice located in Centennial, Colorado. We serve a diverse population with clients ranging from 4 yrs to 80 yrs old, and we offer individual, group, family, and couples counseling. Colorado is currently facing a huge mental health crisis. With significant changes in the state budget, the state has chosen to significantly cut Medicaid mental health funding and has given significant pay cuts to providers that serve this population.
This last week, providers were told that there is a new prior authorization policy that will be going into place that requires providers to get approval before continuing their mental health care for Medicaid clients that have exceeded 24 sessions since July 1, 2025. This policy is being retroactively applied, and there is no current structure implemented from the state to apply for prior authorization for our clients that have already exceeded 24 sessions of mental health care this year.
Please consider donating to cover the cost of these clients that are needing mental health coverage and are now awaiting the state to implement and approve prior authorization for their additional sessions. We are looking at approximately 100 Medicaid clients at our practice that we would like to provide services to for free during this transition time, using your donations will cover provider pay and expenses to do so.
Please note we are not a non-profit organization. We are a small business that is looking for donations to fund our clients care so that they do not have any interruption of services while the state of Colorado implements new policy and procedures.
