ORANGE PARK CITIZENS LEGAL FUND
A large $70M development project is being planned in our quiet town of Orange Park, FL, much to the opposition by the residents. There are many questionable aspects to this development project, especially the actions from members of local government. A number of residents including myself have been speaking up against the project. We are raising alarms regarding the participants and their actions, and submitting Public Records Requests to learn more about the activities leading up to this point. As a result, we the town residents are being attacked, intimidated, harassed, threatened, humiliated, taunted, and sued by a local councilman who has helped push this project through a recent Town Council approval, after the Planning and Zoning Board voted unanimously against the project. This same Councilman has resisted providing information through Public Records Requests dated May 6, 2020. Requests to allow for independent and timely search of government records and communications on his personal email server, which he uses extensively to conduct government business.
I, a single mother of an adult disabled son, and a 13 year involved resident, am now a target by the same Councilman (a government official), who has filed a false and malicious suit against me in retaliation for the Public Records Requests I submitted; a right entitled to me as a citizen. I am confident that there are NO basis for the allegations against me, and this will be proven! The Councilman has also threatened lawsuits against other Town residents!
This fund is intended to assist with legal costs for my defense, and any other local resident who may be sued for seeking the truth. Funds will also help pay for the cost of ongoing Public Records Requests, costs associated with recalling council members, and appeals of decisions made by the Town Council regarding this proposed development. Thank you in advance for any amount of donation and your continued support. We will keep fighting for truth and Sunshine!
