Dear Neighbors,
As you know, I have been spearheading the effort to bring a thoughtful perspective to the proposed subdivision and further development of the property located at 30 Brookside Drive. Over 60 of you responded to my recent survey and were unanimously opposed to the plan of subdivision and granting of the requested variances. Somehow this opposition has not persuaded the developer to abandon his plans. As a result, I have continued to press the issue through my attorneys.
To date, the legal representation has cost me approximately $23,000 out of pocket, and it is expected that the next steps may approach another $25,000, bringing the total to close to $50,000. Many of you have suggested a willingness to help shoulder this cost, as we will all benefit by protecting this special property in Plandome and reinforcing the proper granting of variances to the building code in our Village.
