Join the Arnold Air Society at Duke University in our campaign to stop human trafficking by raising money for Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.).
The Facts:
1. At this very moment, there are 40.3 million slaves on the planet, more than any other point in human history.
2. Two million children, the majority of them girls, are exploited in the multibillion-dollar commercial sex industry.
3. Human trafficking is the fastest-growing form of international crime.
4. The United States is the world's largest consumer of child pornography and the most common destination for victims of sex trafficking.
The Charity:
Operation Underground Railroad is a 501(c)3 charity organization that uses teams of CIA, law enforcement, special operations, and other highly skilled individuals to infiltrate trafficking operations, rescue the slaves, arrest the traffickers and provide victims the care that they need.
To date, O.U.R. has rescued over 3,100 victims and arrested over 1,700 traffickers worldwide, improving lives immeasurably and deterring other traffickers.
THE PUSHUP CHALLENGE:
Operation Blue Devil will last for most of the winter and will culminate in a 1000 pushup challenge for Duke students on 23 February 2020 at 2 PM, in Card Gym on the Duke University campus. Participants will complete 10 pushups every minute for 100 minutes, raising money through sponsors. You can even split the pushups across a team!
FOR DUKE STUDENTS: To sign up, just send your netID to [email redacted]! Don't want to do the challenge? You can still donate and share!
If you aren't a Duke student, no worries! ANYONE can do their part to help break the chain of human trafficking.
How YOU can make a difference:
It takes $10,000 to rescue a child from slavery. We can't reach them all, but if we can help save even a single person, it will all be worth it.
To make your contribution, simply press the donate button on this page. If you are sponsoring a Duke student in the pushup challenge, you can find their name in the team members section of the donation page.
