Operation Safe Winter - COMO 2022 Fund Drive
Winter is a rough, rough time to be unsheltered! Snow and ice can wreck gear and people on the streets are susceptible to hypothermia and frostbite. Operation Safe Winter is continually doing what we can to help keep our unsheltered neighbors unharmed and alive throughout the winter. OSW is also also trying to prepare for the closing of Room at the Inn in early or mid-March. When that happens the availability of overnight shelter in Columbia will be drastically reduced as a result and many folks will be in desperate need of tents, tarps and sleeping bags while still facing the still real potential of cold, wet conditions, even snow and ice if we get a spring blizzard, as has been known to happen. You can help them by making a generous donation!
We are a completely volunteer-run organization dedicated to person-to-person direct support. 100% of the funds generated will go DIRECTLY to the purchase of tents, tarps, sleeping bags, blankets, boots and other critical needs for those living rough on the streets trying to survive the winter. We are happy to work in cooperation with other organizations in town to fill gaps and to go right to where folks are on the streets and in the camps.
