Operation Panty Drop
Don protégé
With a relentless sense of hope, and a determination to help, the LA Bags Hags proudly launch - Operation Panty Drop 2019!
This is a fundraising effort, to provide underwear to women struggling with poverty and homelessness.
Yep. Underwear.
Operation Panty Drop is, admittedly, a quirky endeavor.
But, underwear is a basic and often overlooked need for women living in shelters and along Skid Row in Los Angeles.
The Bag Hags are a feisty group of friends, who have been volunteering monthly at the Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) for over 8 years. After mastering the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, we decided there was more we could do.
This is our fifth “f-UNDERWEAR-aiser.”
Thanks to the abundant generosity of: friends; family; college roommates; Peacocks; Broadway Babies; ex- boyfriends, ex-girlfriends; artists, doctors, yogis, a hockey legend, a few Lakers, and a flock of compassionate strangers, we have been able to provide over 58,000 pairs of underwear, and more than 4,100 bras to women who rely on the DWC for services.
Homelessness continues.
The struggle is abundantly obvious on the streets and under overpasses across LA.
“Operation Panty Drop” will not end homelessness.
It is, however, an earnest effort to make things a little bit better for women who are struggling.
This is the power of compassion.
This is grassroots goodness.
Your donation makes a difference.
