We're Roots to Wellbeing, a dedicated charitable organisation run by skilled volunteers, trained therapists, and passionate supporters. Since 2018, we've been committed to fostering mental, emotional, physical, and cognitive health and wellbeing for all ages in our community. We believe in the incredible potential of people and offer safe, non-judgemental, heart-based support that helps individuals and families not just survive, but thrive.

Based in Harlow, Essex our charity supports the local community. Harlow has pockets of high child poverty and significant financial hardship among its residents. A report by the Harlow Council indicates that 17.3% of children live in low-income families, exceeding the Essex average of 12.8%. Furthermore, 32.3% of children in Harlow live in low-income households after housing costs, the highest rate in Essex.

Why is This So Important?

In 2022 we took 2 coaches to the coast with 43 families (over 160 people on two 83 seater coaches) then in 2023 we managed to fund 1 coach a further 22 families and 78 people plus volunteers. Families still speak about these trips and children hold fond memories as many had not seen the sea before or since (even 14 year olds) , and the memories created still resonate today, fostering a true sense of unity and community. These aren't just trips; they're chances for children to:

• Connect with new experiences and each other.

• Take notice of the world around them.

• Keep learning in exciting, hands-on ways.

• Be active and explore.

• Give back by sharing in a communal experience.

Many of the children we work with are "kinaesthetic" learners, meaning they learn best by doing. For example, we've supported a non-verbal 5-year-old with Autism/ASD who knows all the dwarf planets! These trips offer invaluable hands-on learning outside of a traditional classroom setting.

How Your Support Makes a Difference:

We're aiming to raise £1,000 to fund two 83-seater coaches. This will allow us to take over 40 families, many with multiple children and a single caregiver, on impactful outings. Our team of educators, support volunteers, and family workers will be on hand, all donating their time for free, to ensure every trip is a success.

With your help, 100% of the funds raised here will go directly towards making a tangible difference in the lives of these children and families, offering them hope and opportunities they might not otherwise have.
