OPERATION: Bring Home Jasper
Jeremy and Lindsay Brazeau are Canadian ex-pats living in Papua, Indonesia. Jasper is an Indonesian baby living in Bandung. Together they hope to make one happy family.
After twelve years of marriage Lindsay and Jeremy began the adoption process in earnest last May as they moved to Indonesia to finally settle down after years of moving back and forth between the two nations. The Brazeaus are both qualified teachers and work with a missions organization teaching at a school in the remote Indonesian province of Papua.
Brazeaus visiting a tribe student's parents work with in Papua.
Though Indonesia has (understandably) strict adoption laws the two met the qualifications and, in February of this year, were introduced to Jasper.
Jasper is not yet four months old and has already led an interesting life. His father is African and his mother Chinese Indonesian. He was born in the back of a taxi on route to the hospital. His father wanted to sell him but was thankfully not allowed as the orphanage that was helping care for his mother put a stop to that. In a month's time we hope he will be jetting off to start a new life in Papua. We are extremely grateful for the amazing orphanage that is caring for not only Jasper but dozens of other children.
It was love at first sight for Jeremy and Lindsay who could not believe how blessed they were to be granted the opportunity to raise sweet Jasper. And sweet Jasper is. Although they have only been able to spend a total of six hours over the course of two days with Jasper (and seen only a handful of photos in the intermittent time) Lindsay and Jeremy have been told by numerous sources of Jasper's kind and calm disposition.
"During the six hours we spent with Jasper he was calm and happy though the dozen other babies in the orphanage were screaming and crying." -Jeremy
"The first time I held Jasper I felt such a warmth in my heart. I gave him an Eskimo kiss and he feel fast asleep in my arms. It all just felt so perfect and right." - Lindsay

As mission workers the Brazeaus do not have a large income and as such they are seeking donations from others so that they can bring sweet Jasper home. They are asking for help covering approximately half the cost of the adoption which amounts to $15,000 Canadian dollars. The cost of the adoption includes but is not limited to:
-Processing of paperwork
-Government fees
-Travel costs for three Home Studies (Government officials need to fly from Jakarta to Papua and it is expensive)
-Travel costs for the Brazeaus (they have to fly to Jakarta and travel to Bandung, for weeks at a time, to meet with officials, pick up Jasper and eventually appear before a judge to finalize the process)
-Medical testing (to prove they will be fit parents)
-Professional Consulting fees
The official foster period beings July 12th.
We recognize that people have many opportunities to donate of their limited resources to help all kinds of wonderful causes and Jeremy and I would like to thank you for considering helping us. After twelve years of marriage and many medical issues, culminating with a hysterectomy in January of 2016, we are excited to finally start our family through the adoption of Jasper. There are no words to express what this will mean to us so I will simply say thank you.
Our Sincere Thanks!
