After a successful, however difficult deployment, our soldiers are finally coming home!
For many of these wonderful men and women, this deployment fell within 9 months of their previous deployment. We are so thankful for their tireless service and sacrifice and want to give them a true Hero's welcome!
We are focusing on the single soldiers; The married soldiers get to come home to creature comforts, a family and a home cooked meal. Our single soldiers come home to four walls and a mattress. We want them to know that they are not forgotten and that we missed them too.
It was a rough deployment especailly being stacked on top of another deployment in such quick succession; and having lost some great soldiers and brothers during their tour.
We will be putting together welcome home baskets to help them get through the first few days and hopefully ease this transistion.
Each basket will include a laundry basket, pillow, sheets, personal toiletry kit, laundry supplies, towel and washcloth, air freshener, assorted snacks, a small gift card for some fast food, drinks and a welcome home card. (If by chance we are able to raise more, we plan to have a small gift for all of the soldiers as well)
Each basket costs $45. I would LOVE to include your name on the cards, please let me know if you wouldn't mind; you are also welcome to remain anonymous if you prefer.
We're so grateful for all of the love and support. We love these guys like they're family; My husband has been the proud Commander of this Battery of Warriors and is so appreciative of their sacrifices and hard work. And especially the families back home, who are truly America's unsung heroes. As these soldiers fought alongside their Iraqi counterparts in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, they have been doing important work critical to U.S. security back here at home.
