On June 13th Openreach employees from Alexander Bain House in Glasgow will take to the field to play in a charity football match to raise funds for The Kieran McDade Foundation and Beatson Cancer Charity.

On the 26th of August 2016 we lost a bright star in Kieran McDade. Kieran played for Dunbeth Football Club 2003 squad and was 13 years of age. He suffered a cardiac arrest during a training session with his team. The out pouring of grief that was shared from one end of the country to the next has never been seen before and will probably never be repeated. We will never understand why this tragedy happened or ever understand how his family feel but we need to make sure that this never happens again. It has affected so many people that we Dunbeth FC have took it upon ourselves to set up a foundation in the name of Kieran.

The foundation will look to source as many Defibrillator's as humanly possible and distribute them to local clubs, this will help to give children the best possible chance of life if the unfortunate happens.

Beatson Cancer Charity exists to enhance the experience, treatment, outcomes and wellbeing of all current and former Beatson patients and their families in the broadest possible sense. Working in partnership with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, the Beatson Cancer Charity delivers non-clinical services and funding enhancements in cancer treatment, care and research at the Beatson that will contribute to changing the face of cancer treatment on a local, national and international scale.

Significant funding provides additional patient and family resources and facilities, innovative service developments and enhanced medical equipment. The charity also provides further staff training and development as well as additional resources including clinical nurse specialists, radiography, physics and research-based staff.
