Fundraiser – Legend on the Bench

Donation protected
I’m raising £2,000 to fund a Legend on the Bench installation, with the aim of creating a community funded bench focused on mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

Legend on the Bench is a UK charity that places specially designed benches in public spaces to provide immediate access to mental health support for anyone who may be struggling. These benches are not memorials — they are practical, visible resources designed to help people in moments of need.

Each bench includes:
• QR codes linking directly to mental health and suicide prevention support services
• Clearly displayed contact details for help lines
• A solar-powered light, meaning the bench is illuminated at night and acts as a beacon of support during darker hours

The benches are placed in open, accessible community spaces and are intended to encourage people to pause, reflect, and know that support is always available — day or night.

This fundraiser is being shared with family and friends, Openreach colleagues and supporters who may wish to contribute towards something that delivers a lasting, positive impact for the wider community. There is absolutely no obligation to donate — any contribution, no matter the size, helps bring this project to life.

Once the £2,000 target is reached, the full amount will be used to fund a Legend on the Bench installation through the charity.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting a cause that promotes connection, visibility, and hope.
