HELP US OPEN THE NEXT STRETCH OF MEADOW VISTA'S COMMUNITY TRAILS
The goal of the Open Trails Community Alliance (OTCA) is to foster a cooperative and communicative environment to preserve generations-old trail systems and open spaces.
We value the health and well-being of the Meadow Vista community. Parks, recreation, and open space increase property values, build community, and improve quality of life. These precious community resources include long-standing trail networks that have existed for well over 50 years — and many residents choose to live in Meadow Vista because of them. It's vital to future generations that we conserve the natural and open spaces that make our community a special and desirable place to live and raise families.
Real Progress Since 2020
Since OTCA's founding in 2020, cooperation and dialogue have produced real results:
Gates down, trail open. We negotiated and worked with one landowner to remove their gates and reopen a section of trail to the community.
A new trail connection secured. In a major accomplishment, we reached an agreement with another landowner for a three-quarter-mile section of trail that will open up the Bear River Canal from Meadow Gate Road to Placer Hills Road — restoring a connection this community has enjoyed for generations.
Where You Come In
As part of that agreement, OTCA committed to providing fencing along the proposed trail. Fulfilling this commitment is the final step to opening this section — and it's why we're asking for your support today.
Your donation goes directly toward the fencing that opens this trail. Every contribution brings us closer to reconnecting the Bear River Canal trail for hikers, riders, and families across Meadow Vista.
We look to partner with like-minded community members and organizations to effectively manage and steward the community's open spaces and sustain them for future generations. Please join us.
