My name is Andrew, and I am urgently fundraising to support the Open Ice Initiative March Break Hockey Camp, which is approaching quickly.

The Open Ice Initiative provides free access to hockey for students from high-risk communities who have never had the opportunity to participate due to financial barriers. In the past, we have worked with students from areas such as Regent Park, including partnerships with schools like St. Paul’s Catholic School, where access to organized sport is extremely limited.

Hockey is a defining part of Canadian culture, yet for many families, the cost of camps and equipment places it completely out of reach. Our program removes those barriers by offering a full-day Hockey FUNdamentals Camp from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Ted Reeve Arena during March Break, at no cost to the students.

Each participant receives four hours of on-ice instruction per day in a safe, beginner-friendly environment. For students without equipment, we provide complete gear at no cost, which they keep for long-term use. After the camp, students continue to benefit from ongoing skating and hockey opportunities that reinforce confidence, discipline, and belonging.

We already have many students eager and ready to attend this Summer Camp. The last step is securing the funding required to approve their participation and cover camp and equipment costs. Without immediate support, these students may lose an opportunity that could meaningfully change their confidence, direction, and connection to positive role models.

Your support helps turn interest into access, and hope into reality. Every contribution directly opens a door for a child who simply needs someone to say yes.

Thank you for helping make this opportunity possible when it matters most.
