Open a new Refuge for Women fleeing DV

Help Us Open Safe Houses for Women Escaping Domestic Violence.

Hello – my name is Shelley, and I’m the founder of Led by Dreams.

The mission is simple: to create safe, supportive homes across the UK where women and their children can escape domestic violence and begin to rebuild their lives – without fear, judgement or strict time limits.

Domestic violence is rising rapidly. The current system is overstretched, outdated and often fails the very people it’s meant to protect.

Council-funded refuges can offer only limited help – in some cases, women are forced to leave after just six weeks, even if it’s Christmas Day. That’s not protection – that’s survival.

Led by Dreams is here to offer something different.

We are working to open two fully supported women’s shelters, offering more than just a roof over someone’s head. This is about real, long-term help and the chance to heal. Our services will include:

* Safe accommodation

* Legal support

* Mental health care

* Education and career guidance

* Community and wellbeing support – all without the pressure of time limits

We’ve already secured properties and raised some initial funding – but to open these homes sooner, we need your help.

Right now, we’re on track to open in January 2026 – but with your support, we could be ready as early as October 2025.

Women and children in crisis can’t afford to wait.
