Ongoing Support for the Family of Janice Matthews

Donation protected
It is with great sadness that we announce Janice Matthews' unexpected and tragic passing on the evening of February 27th, 2021. A massive, undiagnosed aneurism ruptured while she was visiting Kansas City. She was there on a mission to help her own mother through the struggles of progressive Alzheimer's disease.  Janice was young at heart and vibrant in spirit, only 60 years old. She leaves behind six children and five grandchildren.

Amid this tragedy, we remember that Janice's youngest son still lived at home and that she provided many forms of support to her daughters, and their daughters. Her absence has created a ripple-- emotionally, yes, but also financially.

We created this campaign in hopes of providing temporary financial relief to her immediate family and to help cover the ever growing costs associated with her passing.

Janice was a pillar in our local mental health awareness community and worked diligently to reimagine parent participation in the Martin County School Board. She was an ardent advocate for those who struggling in this world. We ask you now, those who knew and loved her, to advocate for her children as they struggle through this grievous blow.

We thank you for being a part of her life and ask you to continue the important work she was called to do-- supporting her community, her church, her local schools, and her children.
