Inna lilla hi wa inna ilayhi rajioon
Our beloved father, Haji Afiz Ullah returned to Allah on the 12th of April after battling many illnesses including pulmonary hypertension and heart failure at the age of 69. May Allah grant him mercy and elevate his rank in Jannatul firdous.
Even though our father faced many health challenges, he continued to appreciate all that Allah had blessed him with in life like his grandchildren. We will all miss moments shared such as him sharing his favourite hula hoops that the kids always loved sneaking from him. For these memories we will forever be grateful for and for now we can just pray that we will all be reunited in Jannah together In Sha Allah.
Our father was a loyal and principled man — firm, yet compassionate — always doing what he believed was right and best for others. He had a deep faith, a generous heart and believed strongly in giving charity. Subhanallah, one of his proudest achievements was dedicating his life to building and supporting a mosque in Bangladesh — a place of prayer, community, and khayr (goodness) that will continue serving for generations to come in Sha Allah.
Alhamdulillah, he had already arranged for the mosque to be sustained long into the future, even after his passing. This was part of his vision for ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah) — something that would continue to benefit him in his hereafter. Now that he has passed, we are inviting others to be part of this khayr. As a family we wanted to set something up that will not only benefit us but also continue to benefit our father in the hereafter. Any donation, big or small, will go towards maintaining the mosque and supporting its activities, helping to ensure that every prayer, every recitation, and every act of worship carried out there continues to benefit him in the hereafter.
The Prophet ﷺ taught us that when a person passes away, their deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for them. By donating, you are not only supporting a house of Allah, but also contributing to a continuous source of reward for our father in his akhira.
Even if you are unable to contribute, we kindly ask you to share this page with others. Spreading the word is also a form of khayr, and it may reach someone who is able to contribute. In doing so, you are helping extend this act of Sadaqah Jariyah, allowing its rewards to continue reaching him.
We ask for your duas for him — that Allah grants him mercy, forgives his shortcomings, and grants him the highest place in Jannatul firdous. Ameen
