Ongoing Mutual Aid for DC Frontliners & Activists

DC frontliners and grassroots organizations have been tirelessly protesting, raising mutual aid, and keeping us safe in our own neighborhoods since the murder of George Floyd in May 2020. We have been fighting for Black lives to matter, and to abolish systemic racism rooted in white supremacy and predatory capitalism. As a DC community, we are now faced with thousands of fascists, white nationalists, neo-nazis, and far-right extremists who have stormed the U.S. Capitol, occupied other areas of our city, and created yet another unsafe environment for Black, Brown, Indigenous, and People of Color (BBIPOC) folx and our allies.

The purpose of this GoFundMe campaign is to continually fund mutual aid operations and financially support frontliners who do this incredible work.

During the month of January 2021, fascists have declared that they will remain in DC until the Biden inauguration. We are fundraising specifically to provide ongoing support for unhoused DC residents right now. 

Additionally, we will send stipends directly to frontline organizers and activists, who continue to contribute their time, resources, and talents to the movement for Black lives. This is a way to ensure that we can sustain the movement while also being mindful that we all have livelihoods and basic needs.

Funds will be distributed on a weekly basis to activists’ CashApp or Venmo accounts. Every person gets a percentage of the total raised in a given week. Transparency and accountability for the distribution of funds will be made available on our website below:

·         Rent/utilities
·         Journalist supplies
·         Medical supplies
·         Hygiene supplies
·         Hand warmers and foot warmers
·         Face masks and face shields
