Climbing Kilimanjaro for Healing Hearts

My name is Claire Adams, and in August 2026 I’ll be taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life — climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Healing Hearts CIC. This incredible organisation supports victims and survivors of child exploitation and grooming gangs, helping them rebuild their lives with strength, dignity, and hope. Every step I take up that mountain will be for them — for the women and children who deserve to be heard, believed, and free.

This climb is the next step in a lifelong journey of challenge and purpose. I’ve summited Everest Base Camp, Machu Picchu, the Dolomites, and all the major UK peaks including Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa). I’ve completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks multiple times each year and the National Three Peaks countless times. I’ve also climbed in Afghanistan and Italy, completed the majority of the Wainwrights, and I’m now taking on the Munros in Scotland before moving on to Wales. The mountains have always been my space for reflection, healing, and strength — now I’m using that strength for others.

Healing Hearts CIC is deeply personal to me. I work closely with survivors of grooming gangs, supporting them through some of the most painful and courageous moments of their lives. The funds raised from this climb will help Healing Hearts move towards becoming a registered charity, with a goal of raising £5,000. This will allow us to expand our work — from providing care packages and legal chaperoning, to mental health support and survivor-led recovery. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to helping survivors find hope again. This climb isn’t just about reaching the summit — it’s about helping others rise too.
