Nate and Wai began their rugby journey in Fiji, where they became prominent members of the Lilian Amazons Rugby Club. Earlier this year, they were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to the UK to compete in the LIT 7s Rugby Tournament. Following the competition, they were welcomed by the #onenorthnation, an ethos devoted to by local Rugby Union Club Cheltenham North RFC and quickly became much-loved members of the CNRFC community.
Their commitment, talent, and passion for the game have made a lasting impression both on and off the pitch. Although, England Rugby has strict eligibility regulations for women playing in the UK, Nate and Wai remain deeply committed to developing their rugby careers. There is no better place to grow as 15s players than England, home to one of the world’s leading women’s rugby development pathways.
Due to visa restrictions, they were required to return to Fiji to reapply for new visas, which they have now successfully secured. The final hurdle is funding their return flights to the UK so they can continue the rugby journey they started here.
We are raising funds to help cover their airfare and ease the financial burden of this unexpected challenge. Any contribution, no matter how small, would make a meaningful difference and help bring Nate and Wai back to the rugby community that is ready to welcome them home.
Thank you for your generosity, support, and belief in these two incredible athletes.
