My name is Orianna, and I’m asking for help to save what time we have left with our mum.
My mum has sadly struggled with addiction for many years, particularly alcoholism, and over time it has completely taken hold of her life and health.
In 2020, my nan passed away. Her death devastated our family and deeply affected my mum. Around the same time, my brother also struggled and eventually moved over 3,000 miles away to Canada. Not long after, I was placed into foster care.
My mum went on to live with my grandad, and I helped care for him until he unfortunately passed away as well. After losing him, my mum became homeless, extremely vulnerable, and is now dependent on someone who is not good for her and is enabling her addiction.
I have recently lost my father, and I cannot cope with the thought of losing my mum too.
I am currently trying to get urgent support for my mum through social services, but this process can take up to six weeks. Sadly, my mum does not have that long. Her health is rapidly declining, and she is dying. Because of her alcoholism, doctors have been unwilling to help in the way she desperately needs.
My mum also suffers from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which leaves her physically incapable of many everyday tasks and in need of proper, consistent care — care she is not currently receiving.
I am only 17 years old, living independently on my own, and currently without employment. I simply cannot afford to do this alone.
I am asking for help to bring my brother home from Canada to the UK so he can see our mum for what may be the last time and be here with us. Any funds raised will also help us prepare to get my mum the care and support she needs to keep going, if there is still time.
I’ve recently found out that we don’t have much time,my mums condition has got worse and critical it’s sometjing only god could fix she has been induced in a coma and has a 25% chance to survive
this money would not just be going to his travel cost but pray to god aswell not her funeral cost,Im lost for words i started this go fund me to bring my brother home,Im ending it with lost words and not enough time
Every single pound matters. Even £1 would mean more than I can put into words.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, for sharing it, and for any kindness you are able to give during the hardest time of our lives.
