Building homes in First Nation reserves

We are One House Many Nations (www.ohmn.ca), an Indigenous-led organization that strives to raise awareness about housing conditions and pressures governments to live up to their Treaty, moral, and legal responsibilities, in addition to providing homes.

We started as a seed from Idle No More and, today, we have over 10 houses delivered in First Nations communities in Northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

For the past 5 years, we built 5 tiny homes and delivered to Big River First Nation members. These homes were built through the Making the Shift grant, in partnership with Nutana Collegiate that offered the students' labour to build these homes from scratch.

Our grant has come to an end, but we keep going. At the moment, we have started the construction of the 6th home, but we do not have all the resources necessary to get to the end of it. We are applying for new grants, but there are materials that we need as soon as possible so that Nutana students keep building.

So, we decided to do this crowdfunding to ask you for assistance so that our work doens't stop.
