Hi, my name is Josh Ross. I’m a small business owner in Northeast Ohio and the founder of Silver Leaf Contracting. I’m not someone who likes asking for help—but right now, I need it.

A few nights ago, I got up due to a cramp and passed out while walking back to my bedroom. I fell face-first into the baseboard, causing two skull fractures and bleeding in my brain. My entire face—from the jaw up—is shattered. This includes the eye sockets, nasal bones, and sinus cavities. Surgeons will need to reconstruct it all with metal plates.

Surgery is scheduled for Thursday, and I’ll need a tracheostomy to breathe, a PEG tube to eat, and my jaw will be wired shut for at least two months. Doctors are still running tests to figure out what caused me to lose consciousness in the first place.

The road ahead includes:

• Reconstructive surgery

• Jaw wiring and respiratory support

• Physical and speech therapy

• Medications, follow-ups, and equipment

• Complete inability to work or earn income

To make things harder—I don’t have health insurance. I’m facing hundreds of thousands in medical bills while also being unable to run my business during recovery.
