ONE 4 HER Campaign for 1M Sanitary Pads

Hi, My name is Lisa and I am helping Namara Jane, the founder of Hands of Hope Africato raise funds for their campaign to get 1M sanitary pads to young girls in Uganda so they don't have to miss or drop out of school as well as to teach the girls how to make them as a job skills.

ONE 4 HER is aimed at handing over ONE MILLION reusable sanitary pads to school needy girls in Uganda. According to UNICEF Ministry of Education and Sports Report (Gender Eye 2020, the on-set of menstruation highly contributes to the drop-out, absenteeism and low completion rates for girls in Uganda & compromises the quality of education. Many girls lack the ability to manage it. Estimates are that 1 in 10 menstruating girls skips school for 4-5 days for every 28 day cycle or drops out completely. 4-5 day’s = losing 2 weeks schooling every term.

Hands of Hope Africa will use the funds, prudently, as follows

$25 will make 9 packs of reusable sanitary pads supporting 9 rural girls

$50 will make 20 packs of reusable sanitary pads ,helping to provide pads to 20 girls

$100 will enable us pay 2 people who will be working in the first phase of production of the pads

$3000 will buy materials for making over 1500 reusable sanitary pads

$3100 will enable us provide a menstrual training and training on how to make them to over 300 girls .

$3200 will enable us to pay the people that will do the final touches on the pads which we believe will enable us reach our target of providing 1 Million pads by February 2023.
