About me:

Many of you know me. They call me Bruce or Brucifer. Either way, I love to have fun and organize lots of board game events.

Why the ask?

Organizing is fun. And in the past, I was in a position to simply “eat” the costs of running LA Game Crew. However, they keep raising the subscription prices for Meetup and such. The good news is that at some point, we want to start a non-profit organization to help raise money all year long to help offset costs. In the future, the NP will be called Community Through Play. However, in the meantime, I am going to start a once-per-year “ask” for donations to help recoup the hard costs of:

Meetup + the LA Game Crew website + parked CTP domain, which costs total $494 per year.

Things I still do for free:

Spend hundreds of dollars per year on new games that we all play. Lug games back and forth to each event. Donate my time to schedule regular events, teach games, scout new locations to host events, and moderate our WhatsApp group chat. Additionally, I try to keep out the mean people so that this remains a safe space.

Bottom line:

LA Game crew is not a money-making venture, and I have no plans to change that. This is a true passion project that builds bonds, and we hope brings you joy. Please help if you are able to. Let's help spread the joy.
