Once in a lifetime experience volunteering in Sri Lanka !

Hey Everyone,
As most of you already know I am currently in my second year of Studying adult nursing at Winchester University.
I am fundraising for the opportunity to travel to Sri Lanka and volunteer with Work The World for my final placement of year 2, building on my skills for my future career ...
It has been a dream of mine to travel the world and help those in need and the country's with the lowest health care.
I made my decision for this placement to be overseas as I felt that this experience and travelling is where I wanted to be.
I will be spending a whole month out there to gain as much experience as possible, gaining knowledge on how health care in the other countrys is performed with the lack of staff, supplies and equipment.
As an adult nurse I will be working with those 18 and above and will be exposed to the struggles faced in the local hospitals and clinics.
Each year work the world are spending time with thousands of students to enhance each and everyone's careers.
Work the World crafts healthcare electives around the world tailored to each student's individual interests.
Provided by work the work is safe accommodation, 24/7 in county support teams, safe travel around the towns, language lessons, catering and opportunities to explore the beauty of our chosen country.
I am hoping to raise £3000 to help cover the Trip, flights, insurances and indemnity.
Overall I hope to ...
- Gain perspective that reframes my view of the NHS.
- Build my confidence by stepping out of my comfort zone.
- Get a competitive edge that boosts your career.
- Collect story-worthy travel memories to share with friends back home.
Any help and support will be very appreciated, as this will be an experience of a life time.
Thank you in advance.
