On The Ground is a global online community we are looking to create using the Mighty Networks platform. The bones of it has already been created and can be launched immediately. This is why we're here.
We're just regular everyday people like you who decided we needed to create this space in response to a growing gap between what is actually happening in the world and what people are able to see.
More and more, many of us have noticed:
- Social media feels filtered or censored
- Posts are removed without clear explanation
- Feeds are riddled with misinformation and trolls
Over time, this creates something deeper…
a sense of disconnection from real-time events and from each other.
We believe there needs to be another way.
What We’re Creating
On The Ground is designed to be a simple, grassroots online community where everyday people can share what is happening in their own:
- Cities
- Regions
- Countries
—directly and in real time.
No algorithms deciding what matters.
No middle layer filtering what is seen.
Just people, sharing what they are experiencing.
Our goal is to build a global network where awareness comes from those living it.
And this isn’t just about being aware of the difficult or concerning things happening around the world.
It’s just as important to share the good too—the positive, the uplifting, the moments that remind us of humanity.
The kindness.
The progress.
The everyday beauty that often gets overlooked.
Because a clear picture of the world includes all of it—not just what’s wrong, but also what’s going right.

How the Funds Will Be Used
We are raising funds to bring this vision to life:
- $4,300 → Covers the first year of the platform with the plan that allows members to upload videos (so important)
- Remaining funds →
- Forming a **501(c)(3) nonprofit**
- Supporting growth and global accessibility
- Designing, building and nurturing the community
Our larger goal: $23,000
This would allow us to:
- Have a dedicated mobile app
- Launch on Android & Apple
- Making access easier for people around the world
