Hello! We are fundraising for our beautiful miracle niece, Torvi and her family! Abby and Chris welcomed their 3rd child into the world in December, but not exactly as planned. After a pretty eventless pregnancy, Abby ended up hemorrhaging during labor due to undetected Vasa Previa ( a condition that, undetected, can be deadly to babies, causing stillborns in 1/2 of the cases). An emergency c-section resulted, and Torvi was born, essentially stillborn, but was able to be resuscitated. Both she and Abby required blood transfusions, and Torvi and Chris immediately were transferred to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Abby met up with them there later that evening.

Torvi underwent days of tests, monitoring, medications, and MRIs. Praise the Lord, she defied all odds and was able to go home a few days later with no detectable concerns! We are so thankful to God that Torvi is developing well and has had numerous positive follow-up appointments.

As amazing of a miracle it is, it all came at a hefty price-tag. Chris and Abby are now seeing the medical bills roll in, with their health insurance only covering a small amount. They have already depleted their savings and the bills keep coming. Bills for everything from 2 separate ambulance rides from Beverly to Boston, medication, procedures, tests, MRIs, Abby's recovery in Boston, bloodwork, etc.
