Help Beautify the OLMC Neighborhood for the 100th Festival
This July, Our Lady of Mount Carmel will celebrate its 100th anniversary, and we’re working to make sure the neighborhood surrounding the church looks the way it should for such a historic milestone.
For generations, the OLMC feast has been more than just a festival—it’s been a tradition rooted in faith, family, and community. One of the things that has always made it special is the way the neighborhood comes alive: flags lining the streets, fresh paint, and a clean, vibrant atmosphere that sets the tone for the entire celebration—especially the Feast Sunday procession.
That look and feeling don’t happen on their own. They come from the effort and pride of the people who care about this neighborhood.
This year, we’re asking for help to bring that tradition back in a big way for the 100th.
What the Funds Will Support
All donations will go directly toward improving and restoring the neighborhood, including:
Replacing worn or damaged flags
Adding new flags where needed
Purchasing paint and supplies to refresh:
poles
benches
sewer covers
manhole caps
other visible areas throughout the neighborhood
Creating decorative elements to honor:
our priests
important figures in OLMC history
longtime members of the community
Many of these areas haven’t been updated in over a decade, and this anniversary gives us the perfect opportunity to bring everything back to life.
About This Effort
While this is not an official church-sponsored fundraiser, it is something that has always been done for the same purpose—to support OLMC, honor its traditions, and prepare the neighborhood for the feast.
The goal is simple: when people come back for the festival this year, the neighborhood should look and feel exactly how they remember it—if not better.
Other Ways to Contribute
If you’d prefer not to donate through GoFundMe, we are also accepting:
Cash
Venmo
Cash App
We are also looking for:
Gift basket donations
Materials or supplies
Volunteers to help with painting and decorating
Please reach out directly if you’d like to help in any of these ways.
Why It Matters
This 100-year celebration only happens once.
For many of us, OLMC and this neighborhood represent generations of memories, traditions, and family. The work we put in now will shape the experience for everyone who comes back to celebrate.
If this community has ever meant something to you, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser.
Every contribution helps.
