Hi my name is Angie and i’m fundraising for my 4 year old grandson, Ollie. Friday 30th August 2024 he woke up with a limp, he’s always had issues with his left leg and his mam (my daughter) had been back & forth with gps but it’s always been pushed aside as “growing pains” with them usually going away after a few days. This time she followed her gut, thursday 5th September she took him to the walk in where they sent them to NSECH Paediatric ward the next day, they took his bloods, gave him an xray and observed the leg, after about 5/6 hours in the hospital they got brought into a room and the doctors stated that they had ran some blood tests and think they might have seen leukemia in his blood. Obviously shocked she had to ask again, he stated that his White blood cell count was very high and almost too high, they transported them to RVI where we got the news that they were testing him for Leukemia and the type wouldn’t be known until further tests were done. They got moved to a ward specialising in children’s cancer and spent the night. Saturday 7th the specialist came in and confirmed that Ollie has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). They are now onto weekly treatments and fingers crossed he will be in maintenance in may/june. His treatment plan is over 2 years. He’s been incredibly brave during this time even though his treatment is taking its toll. Callie (ollies mam) has had to take leave from work since september and is Ollies sole caregiver and this has put a strain on the family finances as she also has another son & a house to run. Ollies dream has always been to go to Disneyland Paris, at the moment he can’t so hopefully in maintenance he maybe can, so they can make all the best memories possible. Donations are gratefully received and extremely appreciated!️
