Hi, my name is Kate and I am fundraising for my son Ollie whose E bike and phone was stolen from him on 29th December 2025.
Ollie was riding with a friend to go and get açai. He has just stopped at the cafe I work at to get some money, I said goodbye and he rode off.
About 20 minutes later I noticed I had a couple of missed call from a random number. I rang it back and Ollie was hysterical on the other end. He was crying and trying to tell me his bike was stolen. I left work and went to where he was. He was distraught.
Ollie explained to me that he was riding on the main Rd of Gorokan and had stopped to wait for his friend to cross the road. While he was stopped, a teenager dressed in a black puffer jacket and black track pants ran across the road to him. He stood in front of Ollie, who was still on his bike, and said ‘Hey I know you, give me a ride of your bike’. Ollie said ‘No’, and the teenager grabbed the handlebars and the front tyre and ripped it out from under him. Ollie has stumbled back, and the teenager has ridden off with another older mail joining him on foot.
Ollie had saved money to pay for some of the bike and his dad had chipped in the rest. Ollie’s phone was in the phone carrier on the bike and his money was in the back of the phone case.
I am a single mother of 5….. I wish I could buy him another bike and phone but the reality is I can’t. His dad is also not in a position to be able to buy either.
Ollie is devastated. He has had his E bike stolen and phone stolen by a low life teenager who thought it was his right to take it from
an 11 year old.
My family is hoping for any support to help raise some money to buy him another bike. He is obviously shaken up by the whole event and his friend is also.
We have reported it to the police and they have informed us that it is actually classed as a robbery as the items were on my son at the time. I am disgusted that children can’t ride around safely in their own neighbourhood.
Any donation would be appreciated- thank you
