#oliviaruthstrong Fight Against Infant Leukemia

It started off so normal, under the weather and a double ear infection. What came next was completely unexpected. On Tuesday, 10/22 our sweet 10 month old Olivia, was admitted to the pediatric oncology floor of Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City. Olivia had a bone marrow biopsy, which led to the discovery of the extemely rare subtype “Philadelphia” acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Due to the strong chemotherapy drug that Olivia had been receiving, she incurred a rare complication which led to the removal of her colon on 11/15. Aaron and Tracy have been by her side day and night. Tracy has resigned from her job. This is, and will be an ongoing struggle considering they live an hour from Iowa City in Rock Island, IL.
