Ramon, A friends, coworker and union brother was expecting his first baby in late August. Unfortunately his wife was faced with some serious medical problems that caused the baby to be delivered a lot sooner than expected. The baby is currently in the NICU but both mom and baby face a long road to recovery. Ramon has been and continues to be the sole provider for his household and will be taking at least three months off to be there for his wife and baby throughout this extremely tough time. As you all may or may not know, fathers are unfortunately not afforded paid paternity leave within our company. I am relying on us all to come together and try to alleviate some of the financial strain his family will be faced with during this time.
