Oliver the Brave is a childhood cancer awareness story. It was written for and dedicated to Brave Warrior Carsyn Volpe from Bellmore , NY and his family. Carsyn was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma when he was just 2 years old! I had no concept as to what that meant. The story his mother shared with me affected me so deeply. My heart was broken to hear about the painful treatments and side effects this beautiful child had to endure. So much strain put on the whole family spending countless days and weeks in the hospital. I prayed for them and promised his mother I would do something to help. I could not change the past, but together with this beautiful strong family we are making a difference.
I have worked a long time on this very worthy cause, it’s now time for Oliver the Brave to come to life in mascot form to visit children and their families. He will bring smiles, inspire BRAVERY, STRENGTH and HOPE to these amazing kids fighting cancer and bring some coloring and storybooks along with stress relieving games and toys to help the families in their time of need.
I hope you will join me in raising awareness and funding to create our mascot and support families around the world fighting to save their children’s lives.
