Hahamongna Eagle Scout Project - Oliver Stein
Donation protected
My name is Oliver Stein and I am a life scout from Troop 507 based out of La Canada Flintridge. For my Eagle Scout Project, I will be constructing a large sapling house enclosure for the Hahamongna Native Plant Nursery in order to help nourish and protect the plants of the nursery. Hahamongna Native Plant Nursery grows and provides low-cost native plants for restoration, conservation, and landscaping in Hahamongna Park and for other restoration projects throughout Los Angeles County. This sapling house will be approximately 16 ft in length by 6 ft in width two sets of double doors on each side. There will also be a built in irrigation system to maximize the efficiency of the nursery. The entire enclosure will be covered with a wire mesh to protect against feeding birds, rodents, and other invasive species. This project will also benefit The Devil's Gate Reservoir Restoration Project, The Hahamongna Watershed Park, and the surrounding communities including the cities of La Canada Flintridge and Pasadena. As is stands, the nursery has 7 completed sapling boxes with three remaining. With your help, I will be able to help the people at the Hahamongna Native Plant Nursery and all of the Arroyo Seco with this new addition.
