Old Leamingtonians RFC & Teenage Cancer Trust
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Liam and I'm doing the three peaks challenge in July to raise funds for Old Leamingtonians RFC and Teenage Cancer Trust with 50/50 split from all money raised.
Old Leamingtonians RFC
I started my rugby journey about 10 years ago at Old Leams and have loved every minuet of it. in the last couple of years the club started to work towards some exciting projects to improve the facilities making them suitable for all users for years to come. unfortunately these project have been put to the side as a major maintenance issue was discovered earlier this year and we are desperately raising funds to get this sorted just so we can stay open.
Teenage Cancer Trust
Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words “you have cancer”. They will each need specialised nursing care and support to get them through it. We’re the only UK charity dedicated to meeting this vital need – so no young person faces cancer alone.
Teenage Cancer Trust offers unique care and support, designed for and with young people. We fund specialised nurses, youth workers and hospital units in the NHS, so young people have dedicated staff and facilities to support them throughout treatment.
The Challenge
this summer a number of member of OLRFC will be completing the 3 peaks challenge, climbing the tallest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike), and Wales (Yr Wyddfa).
The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, over a similar total walking distance. The total driving distance is 462 miles.
