My name is Ola. I’m 35 years old, a mother of three beautiful children, and for the past 18 months, I have been trying to build a life from the ground up — over and over again.

On October 5th, 2023, I gave birth to my youngest son, Mohammed. That day should have been filled with joy, but it marked the beginning of a long journey of displacement. Since then, my family has been forced to move four times, each time carrying less, sleeping in worn-out tents, and trying to stay strong for the children.

Our current shelter barely protects us from the heat of summer or the biting cold of night. Rodents scurry nearby, and the thin fabric of the tent does little to keep them away from my sleeping children.

I have three kids:

Kareem, 9 — wise beyond his years, always helping his siblings.

Joud, 6 — full of questions about the world she cannot explore.

Mohammed, now almost 2 — growing up without the warmth of a real home.

We have no stable access to food, water, or electricity. My husband and I struggle daily to find milk for the baby. Sometimes, we boil stale bread just to make a meal feel whole. Our children walk long distances to bring back water — water that isn’t even clean — and it’s taking a toll on their health.

But the hardest part? Watching my children lose their right to a safe and stable childhood. They wake up to frightening sounds. They go to sleep with no light. And they ask questions I can’t always answer — like when they’ll go back to school, or when we’ll have a home with a door that locks.

Yet, I haven’t given up.
I can’t.

For the past 18 months, I’ve carried the weight of survival with empty hands. From nothing, I’ve tried to give them something — comfort, safety, and hope. I’ve sewn torn blankets. I’ve gathered wood for warmth. I’ve told stories at night when there was no light to read by, just to help them sleep without fear.

Now, I’m asking for help — not for me, but for them.

Your support can help us buy food, clean water, and repair the fragile shelter we live in. It can help us create even a small space where my children can grow, dream, and feel like children again.

If this story reaches you — if you feel something in your heart — please consider donating.
Every act of kindness brings us one step closer to dignity, healing, and hope.
