On the evening of June 2nd, the Coromandel Express, a passenger train carrying families during peak summer vacation hit a goods train in Odisha, India. Within minutes, another passenger train, Howrah Super Fast Express hits the derailed compartments of the Coromandel Express. This heartbreaking incident has a death toll of 200+, and more bodies are still being identified as critically ill, needing blood, surgeries, and rehabilitation at multiple hospitals transfers across the state of Odisha. Sakhyam Foundation at Balesore has its volunteers on the ground helping in every way possible.
