Oak Healthy Living

‍♂️ On the 12th of October, my son Oisín and I will be running a half marathon in support of Oak Healthy Living Centre, a local charity close to our hearts, based in my hometown of Lisnaskea, Co. Fermanagh.

Lisnaskea is a small town of just 3,000 people, but like many small communities, it has experienced deep heartache — much of it rooted in mental health struggles. Sadly, too many families have lost loved ones to suicide. This heartache has affected many friends, relatives & myself with losing my brother Niall. Some of these tragedies might have been prevented if services like Oak HLC had been available at the time.

Oak Healthy Living Centre is a small organisation with a massive heart. Their work touches lives across the community — not just in mental health, but in physical health, emotional support, and community wellbeing.

Here’s just a glimpse of what they do:

  • Drop-Inn Centre
  • SOLO – Self-help for families bereaved by suicide
  • Bereavement Support Groups
  • Health & Wellbeing Programmes (Stress Management, Mood Matters, Assist, Restorative Yoga, Walking Therapy, Online Support)
  • AWARE Depression Support Group
  • Social Prescribing from GPs and Social Workers
  • Events during World Mental Health Week

They have outgrown their current building and desperately need a new space to continue and expand their amazing work. Fundraising has been ongoing locally, and we want to do our part to help get them across the finish line — literally and figuratively. ❤️☘️

So, on October 12th, Oisín and I will be running a half marathon down here in Perth Western Australia to raise funds for their new building.

Even if you’ve already donated before locally in the town — any extra you can give would mean the world. Whether you’re from Lisnaskea or anywhere in the world reading this — please consider clicking the link below to support this incredible cause.

Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
