Everyone at the Oldham Athletic Veterans and Armed Forces Supporters Group are proud and ardent supporters of the Forcer Protocol.

The Protocol was founded by Claire Lilly following the death of her ex-husband, Alan Forcer – a Household Cavalry soldier who suffered from Complex PTSD after tours of duty in Kosovo and Northern Ireland.

Greater Manchester Police were the first force in the UK to support the initiative, and since then, not only have they successfully traced hundreds of veterans and several others across the country have followed suit.

Thanks to the commitment of Oldham Athletic, the Oldham Athletic Community Trust, and with our group’s backing, our club became the first professional football club to formally support the Forcer Protocol. Together, we aim to aid in tracing and supporting service men and women who go missing during dark and difficult periods.

As part of this commitment, the Community Trust has kindly offered the use of their Executive Match Day facilities. We’ve invited senior GMP officers who work on the Protocol, and most importantly, Claire herself.

However, Claire lives in the South of England, and travelling up to Boundary Park is both difficult and expensive. We feel strongly that she should be with us on this special occasion – not only as the founder of the Forcer Protocol, but as someone whose courage and compassion has already made such a difference.

That’s why we’re coming together: as supporters of Oldham Athletic, as supporters of our Veterans, and as supporters of the Forcer Protocol.

We ask for your help – please consider sparing a donation to help us bring Claire and a guest to Boundary Park, so she can be with us, our community, and our club on this important day.

Veterans are everywhere in our community - there's over 6000 in Oldham alone and no one will really ever know when one of them is struggling. By supporting and promoting of the ForcerProtocol, we can minimise this happening to people in our community, in our families and within our fantastic group of supporters.

Please help us make this happen - however, here's a press link if you need any further information
