Never in a million years would Anyone imagine they were writing this story about Samuel Martin. Samuel (Sammy, Sam) Martin was a father, brother, uncle, son, friend and soulmate, but above all he was an adventurist. Sam saw opportunity for adventure around every corner and never once did he hesitate to seize that moment.

On April 16th he set out to have an epic day with his very best friend/adventure partner/ wife, Anna. After a lifetime of adventure and outdoor training, no one could have ever predicted that this raft ride would have been any different than the rest. In a tragic accident that day, Sam was taken from us.

If you knew Sam you likely have memories of epic adventures, dad jokes and great food. You likely received a call at the most inconvenient time to “check out the moon right now, man!”, or you can still hear him telling you “sure, but if you look at it like this…”

As Sam’s beautiful family clings to these memories, it is our goal that we can provide them with enough funds that they can focus on healing and coming together as a family as opposed to the finance that comes with loss.

Sam leaves behind his wife and five beautiful children - two adult twin boys, one college aged daughter, one high school aged daughter and a middle school son.

This fund is for Sam’s family to do with as they need and to ensure his children can experience life as Sam would have wanted. It is to support a life of adventure as Sam joins them in spirit everywhere they go.
