Fundraiser for the "Fight to save DCARA"
DEAF BAY AREA CALL TO ACTION FOR SUPPORT:
The DCARA Board of Directors and Staff still need your help! The fight with racist former DCARA board members is not over. DCARA staff, executive director, and Board of Directors are still fighting against racism, oppression, hostility, and intimidation by the former board members who are racists. This ongoing fight is causing enormous stress for DCARA staff.
GOOD NEWS!! THE NEW BOARD LEADERSHIP IS COMMITTED TO ANTI-RACISM WORK
We are excited about the all-new board members, Liann’s new leadership, and recommitment of forged allies within our communities. This GoFundMe is our way of showing our support for new leadership based on anti-racism work. We all must fight against former board members’ tools of racism by using lawsuits to oppress Black and Brown people. Your support makes a difference. Thank you!
Also, we are happy to share that the judge denied the temporary restraining order against Liann Osborne, DCARA Board President, and Raymond Rodgers, DCARA Executive Director, and stated that they shall continue to operate DCARA. This is possible because of your support. Thank you!
However, the fight is not over.
FORMER BOARD MEMBERS ARE STILL SUING LIANN, RAYMOND, and DCARA BOARD MEMBERS
The former board members’ are still filing their frivolous lawsuits against Liann, Raymond and Board members. Liann, Raymond, and Board members are paying out of their pockets to defend themselves. They still need our help!

With the ongoing racist lawsuits by the former board members, DCARA community members are deeply concerned and invite you to support them by helping to offset the cost for the defendants’ legal fees.
IN SOLIDARITY WITH BAY AREA BLACK DEAF ADVOCATES’ POSITION
We are Deaf community members in solidarity with Bay Area Black Deaf Advocates (BABDA) to end systemic racism. Here is the public statement by BABDA:
“We, Bay Area Black Deaf Advocates board members would like to make a public statement about the former DCARA board lawsuit against Liann Osborne. The purpose of this statement is to demand the lawsuit to be dropped against Liann Osborne.”
